While the existing gardens at this lavish home were hardy, they lacked pizzazz. The plantings were supplemented with colorful, long-blooming species that create variety and interest through several seasons. Oversized rectangular pavers now define a path through the lawn from the lower courtyard to the upper pool terrace.
A stone fireplace, accented with a cast-stone surround blends seamlessly with the existing pool walls.
An herb garden in the house courtyard is accented with a custom armillary sphere on a cast stone pedestal.
A water feature was added to the existing pool to create a focal point from the house. With a custom bronze spout, designed by sculptor Charles Splady, and connecting pergola at the upper pool terrace, this space now catches the eye of visitors from the rear (lower) courtyard.
